Functional Description:
The vehicular green signal will continue to run until there is a demand from the Pedestrian through push button to cross the road. In the event of a push button demand received (once a pedestrian presses the button to cross) the system will wait for a pre-defined minimum time period for Vehicular GREEN before it activates the pedestrian operation. This means there will be a minimum time period for vehicular GREEN between 2 pedestrian activated operations (the time period can be set with the help of MMI). On reaching the minimum time period the Vehicular Green signal will be terminated and the system will run the inter-green i.e, AMBER signal for 4 seconds and then the Vehicular RED. In case the push button is pressed again & again during the vehicular phase, the system will not skip theVehicular GREEN operation until the pre-defined minimum Vehicular GREEN is completed. No new demand of push-button operation is permitted during an ongoing pedestrian cross operation. Pedestrian ON time period can be set according to field requirements. The Controller can be time synchronized with the nearby traffic intersection for uninterrupted flow of vehicular traffic.

Features:
Auto / Manual Mode Operations : System can be placed on ‘Manual mode’ operation as and when desired by the user. This mode enables the Police to control the traffic according to the traffic volume at that point of time.
Flash Mode Operation : System can be put in to “Flash Mode” operation whenever is needed by activating the switch provided on the Police Panel. Provision has been given to activate the Flash mode from Keyboard while in programming mode
Hurry Call : 4 ‘Hurry Call’ plans can be programmed. By activating hurry call, all running signal will be switched to Amber for 4 seconds and then to Red Signal except for the activated Hurry plan. Running time duration can be set for each hurry call. Any signal plan except 1 & 2 can be configured as Hurry Call. Amber plan will run after completion of each Hurry Call.
All Red plan : ‘All Red Plan’ is executed following Power ON of the System to clear the intersection before starting a green signal. Default time duration for “All Red Plan” is 04 seconds. This can be increased up to 99 seconds as desired by the user.
Amber plan : Amber Plan is activated during manual mode operation of the System. The Signal Plan consisting of Amber output will be automatically changed to the next Signal Plan after running predefined time of the Amber output. Total of 16 entries are possible in this plan.
Line Test Plan : This plan is used to test the physical connection of the output from CPU to the output lamp through driver card
MMI : Hand-held LCD display is provided for programming of the parameters & monitoring online status of the System.
Total freedom of programming : There are no fixed outputs configured by default for any particular signal outputs. The user can assign any output numbers to his convenient.
Time Sync and Data restoration : In case of power failure or restart of the system data will be restored and signal plan timing will be adjusted according to the real time.
Erase Plan : User can erase saved data of individual plans or all plans together
Flash operation in Programming Mode: To prevent the system from complete halt while in programming mode, user can switch the system into flash mode operation while programing.
Police Panel : Police panel is provided to allow the Traffic Police to disable the auto mode operation and operate the system in manual mode. A Push to ON switch is provided here to manually change the Signal Plan as desired by the Police Personal. All output lines can be switched to ON or OFF from police panel for maintenance purpose while the Traffic Signal Controller will continue to be active.

Introduction

Adaptive Traffic Control System (ATCS) with Remote Monitoring & Control Capability
1. System Overview
The proposed system shall be an Adaptive Traffic Control System (ATCS) for traffic signal intersections.
- Existing signal lights and cabling may be retained (if applicable)
- Osho Adaptive Traffic Controller shall be deployed
- System shall enable real-time adaptive signal control based on traffic conditions
- System shall support remote monitoring and control
- Vehicle detection system shall be included for adaptive functionality
2. Communication Architecture
- Controllers shall be connected via Ethernet / wireless communication
- Data shall be transmitted to a central monitoring server
- Network configuration required for remote access
3. Controller Functional Requirements
3.1 Real-Time Monitoring
Each controller shall transmit:
- Current signal phase (Red / Amber / Green) and lamp status
- Mode status (Adaptive / Auto / Manual / Flash)
- Real-time traffic data (vehicle presence and counts via detectors)
- Real-time traffic monitoring at the intersection
3.2 Adaptive Control Logic
- Signal timings shall be dynamically adjusted based on real-time traffic conditions
- Phase duration, cycle time, and sequence shall adapt automatically
- System shall optimize traffic flow and reduce congestion
